Welcome to the Ghost Dinner Party Blog.
My name is Hannah Boyd and I am a creative practitioner born in the UK.
I have invited a number of female artist’s to take part in my project 'Ghost
Dinner Party', writing their ‘ghost project’ on a pure white dinner plate (a
project which they may or may not carry out in the future) and photographing
them to create an image.
The project is in response to International Women's Day and inspired by
feminist artist Judy Chicago's 'Dinner Party' and conceptual artist Yoko Ono's
book 'Grapefruit' which consists of her ghost projects.
39 of the images will be published in a book called ‘Ghost Dinner Party’ echoing
the number of plates in Chicago’s work and opening with a forward by female
artist Professor Dew Harrison.
The blog has become live on the 8th March 2017 for International Women’s Day and images of
over 50 female artists plates will be uploaded over the month of March.
I hope you enjoy the amazing thoughts and ideas of these artists and are
inspired to look further into the bodies of work.
